About the Programme

Yoga is far more than a physical discipline. It is a lifelong path of study, self-awareness, personal transformation and conscious living.

This Teacher Training has been carefully designed to honour the depth of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa system while preparing today’s teachers with the practical skills required to teach safely, intelligently and professionally.

Throughout the programme, students develop a deeper understanding of posture, alignment, breath, philosophy, anatomy, meditation, sequencing, communication, observation and ethical teaching.

Rather than simply learning how to instruct a yoga class, participants are guided through a complete educational journey that cultivates personal practice, critical thinking, teaching confidence and professional responsibility.

The modular format allows students to progress gradually and integrate each stage of learning before moving forward, creating a strong and lasting foundation.

Why Choose This Training?

Our programme combines the depth of traditional yoga education with a contemporary understanding of movement, anatomy and teaching methodology.

Two Teachers. One Vision.

This programme is the result of a collaboration between HotYoga Malta and Ashtanga Yogābhyāsa, bringing together two complementary teaching backgrounds united by a shared commitment to authentic yoga education.

While rooted in the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa method, the training also embraces contemporary movement science, functional anatomy, intelligent teaching methodology and practical classroom experience.

Together, Simona Coscia and Stefano Peschiulli offer students a balanced educational experience integrating traditional practice, philosophical inquiry, modern anatomy and professional teaching skills.

Rather than focusing solely on receiving a certificate, the programme aims to support each participant in becoming a knowledgeable practitioner, a confident teacher and a lifelong student of yoga.

Stefano Peschiulli

Stefano Peschiulli is a dedicated spiritual practitioner and former professional ballet dancer whose encounter with Ashtanga Yoga marked a profound turning point in his life.

Drawn by the depth and discipline of the method, he committed himself to a path of rigorous practice and continuous study. He began his Ashtanga journey under the guidance of Vairagya Ranko, a Level II Authorised teacher and direct disciple of Sharath Jois, before travelling extensively in India between Rishikesh and Mysore to immerse himself in practice and traditional philosophy.

He had the privilege of studying at the Sharath Yoga Centre with Paramaguru Sharath Jois. Since 2020, he has deepened his understanding of Vedānta under the guidance of Swami Tadatmananda Saraswati, with whom he also completed formal training in Advaita Vedānta and Meditation.

With more than 2,500 hours of formal training and over a decade of teaching experience, Stefano has led numerous Teacher Training programmes specialising in Ashtanga Yoga, alignment and yogic philosophy.

His background also includes certification as a GYROTONIC® Method instructor and teacher trainer, informing his precise, intelligent and anatomically aware approach to movement.

In 2023, he founded Ashtanga Yogābhyāsa, a Spiritual Research Centre dedicated to practice, study and self-inquiry. His teaching integrates the traditional Ashtanga method with the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali and the non-dual vision of Advaita Vedānta.

Two Flexible Study Pathways

Every student’s journey is different. For this reason, the programme offers two learning options.

Complete 200-Hour Teacher Training

The complete programme is designed for students wishing to undertake the full educational journey from dedicated practitioner to confident yoga teacher.

Participants progressively develop their personal practice, teaching skills, philosophical understanding and professional competencies through all four modules.

The modular structure provides time for integration between each stage while maintaining a coherent and progressive learning experience.

Individual Module Participation

Each module may also be attended independently.

This pathway is ideal for:

  • Yoga teachers wishing to continue their education.

  • Practitioners interested in deepening specific areas of Ashtanga Yoga.

  • Students wishing to study anatomy, philosophy or teaching methodology without immediately committing to the complete programme.

  • Participants who prefer to build their education one module at a time.

Students attending an individual module receive a certificate of completion for the module attended.

Programme Structure

The 200-Hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training is organised into four progressive 50-hour modules.

Each module focuses on a specific stage of development, allowing students to build knowledge, practical experience and teaching confidence step by step.

The programme combines:

  • In-person training weekends.

  • Selected live online philosophy, pranayama and meditation sessions.

  • Guided personal practice.

  • Self-study and reading assignments.

  • Observation exercises.

  • Peer teaching.

  • Supervised teaching practice.

  • Reflection and integration work.

All practical training is delivered in person at HotYoga Malta. Only selected theoretical sessions are held live online.

By the end of the complete programme, participants will have completed approximately 200 hours of study, practice, observation and teaching.

What Makes This Training Different?

Many teacher training programmes focus primarily on certification.

Our intention is different.

We believe that great yoga teachers are first dedicated practitioners.

For this reason, the programme emphasises the gradual development of personal practice, self-observation, philosophical inquiry and real teaching experience before placing students at the front of the room.

Rather than memorising information, participants learn to understand, experience, integrate and communicate yoga with confidence, integrity and authenticity.

The seasonal modular structure gives students time to practise, reflect and integrate what they have learned before progressing to the next stage.

This balance between traditional practice, contemporary movement science and progressive teaching methodology creates a learning experience that continues to support students long after graduation.
